A three-time Olympian, Delgado competed in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic Games, solidifying her place among the world’s top judo athletes. A three-time Grand Slam medalist, she most recently secured her ninth Senior Pan American-Oceania Championship medal, earning silver in April 2024 in Rio de Janeiro—the site of her first Olympic appearance.
Born into a legacy of judo, Delgado was introduced to the sport by her father, Miguel Delgado, a former member of the Cuba National Team, who fled Cuba in the 1980s and settled in Miami. “Without him, I would’ve never put on a gi,” she shares. Her judo journey began at just nine years old, training under her father in their backyard.
Beyond her Olympic achievements, Delgado takes pride in overcoming adversity, stating, “Every time I push past challenges, it reaffirms my purpose to be the best.” She thrives in moments of deep focus, where stepping onto the mat brings a sense of clarity and determination.
A 2021 graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Delgado married fellow judoka and former Senior World teammate Alex Turner in September 2022. An 11-time Senior World Team member, she boasts three Grand Slam podium finishes and five Grand Prix medals, continuing to leave her mark on the global judo stage.
